Video: Take Care & HYFR by Drake
Drake gives two for the price of one on a Saturday morning, dropping clips for “Take Care” and “HYFR” in succession. For the first, Drake linked up with his once-rumored paramore Rihanna for a second go-round of scintillating pop. But unlike the last collaboration, “What’s My Name?," which begs you to slowly drop it the floor, the Jamie XX-produced “Take Care” calls for more intimate gyrating. Appropriately, Drake and Rihanna spend a lot of the clip embracing each other—similar to Ciara and 50 Cent’s “Can’t Leave Em Alone” video but with a lot more clothing. There is other loveliness to behold, like the slo-mos of random wildlife dispersed throughout the video. But its beauty is no surprise, as sampling from Jamie XX and Gil Scott-Heron’s collaborative remix album inspired wonder in all of us in the first place.
To add more to his creative cache, the visual treatment for the Lil Wayne-featuring “HYFR” smashes our traditional notion of Rap Party Video, as Drake invites us to celebrate his bar mitzvah. (via The Fader)
News: Take Care & HYFR Visuals
Seems like Good Friday just got a little better. Early this morning Drake announced he would be releasing not one but two videos Friday. Fans of Drake have been eager to see his "Take Care" video featuring Rihanna, while his "HYFR" video features Lil Wayne.
What will have a bigger impact on the internet Drake's double dose of visuals or G.O.O.D. Music's "Mercy" single? We'll have to let the fans decide. (via The Source)
News: Calvin Harris Named #1 Most Successful Songwriter In UK
It really is time for a commercial dance with Calvin Harris named the UK’s #1 songwriter in-front of Bruno Mars, Adele, Ed Sheeran and Stargate?
The "Bounce" and "Feel So Close" producer clinched the coveted top spot by collaboration with lady-about town Rihanna, on "We Found Love." Calvin has already had a big year heading downunder for Shore Thing and the Summadazye National Festival. Harris and Rihanna have announced plans to play a charity gig in Los Angeles on February 12 in aid of the Children’s Orthopaedic Centre. (via Stoney Roads)
We Found Love (Star Slinger Refix) by Rihanna
Couldn't resist another post because of this one. Damn this guy Star Slinger! Definitely one of my favorite producers of all time! Check this, "We Found Love" by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris is one of the most overplayed tracks we have to date and I'm no fan. Slinger, however, gives it refix treatment that just changes everything. Not only is it now bearable, it is now worth the listen. Merry Christmas everyone! Cheers from #ANT
Take Care (Mike Irish Remix) by Drake
Yes, this is my third "Take Care" post and yes, this is a favorite from Drake's new album Take Care which is also the title track (now that was redundant). This time it's Mike Irish putting himself on the map with his spin on the chart-topper. A top-notch producer who brings his A-game with every release including this one.
This 10-minute long effort consists of a natural build-up to these heavy breaks and, of course, along with the beautiful vocals to begin with. The Jamie xx part also gets emphasized more which is my most fancied part of the entire product. I'm still NOT a fan of the usual top 40 playlists but this offering just might give it a chance. Good job!
Take Care (Drake Cover) by Florence + The Machine
There are good covers and there are definitely bad ones but this one just obviously belongs to the awesome. Florence + The Machine surprising their fans with a very beautiful cover of Drake, Rihanna, and Jamie xx's "Take Care," the title track of Drizzy's chart-topping new album on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge at Maida Vale Studios.
Before proceeding with the performance, she notes that the three artists who make-up the original are three of her "absolute favorites" so I guess it's pure love what just came out as an outcome. The collective breaking out with natural soul, adding more strings for that signature cinematic sound they are known for.
Album: Sunburn EP + Bonus Remix by Viceroy
Hot off the decks and guaranteed for FREE is San Francisco local Austen Afridi, a.k.a. Viceroy's new EP, Sunburn. All I can say is that this record is a machine, a music machine to instantly take you to that known place where there is sun, sand, and sea, the place we all love!
"Summer time, all the time!"
Take Care (feat. Rihanna) by Drake
Only under an hour since my last Drake post and another track off his second album, Take Care, surfaces. After just a few moments of the premiere of "Crew Love," another much anticipated song was aired. The carrier single, Rihanna-featured, and also of the same title as the album, "Take Care."
Track is produced by Jamie xx and is a clear cut sample of Gil Scott-Heron. Another reason why Jamie xx is under the category of talent. Also, a move so unexpected by Drizzy that make fans want more. All the same, they all made beautiful music together. Headbob away!
Album: Mylo Xyloto by Coldplay
A few more days till the official release of Coldplay's fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto, which is due for release on October the 25th via Parlophone Records (could be their last?). A few tracks have already surfaced with "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" and "Paradise" who already have gathered a huge amount of attention from the mass. From DJ's to bloggers to a normal person like me, anticipation just keeps on building.
- Mylo Xyloto
- Hurts Like Heaven
- Paradise
- Charlie Brown
- Us Against The World
- M.M.I.X.
- Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
- Major Minus
- U.F.O.
- Princess Of China (feat. Rihanna)
- Up In Flames
- A Hopeful Transmission
- Don't Let It Break Your Heart
- Up With The Birds
Now we have another track that surfaces with "Princess Of China," a collaboration they did with an unlikely artist. A team-up with the current princess of pop, Rihanna. Coldplay going for more synth leaning towards the line of dance music? Not a bad collab but I'm not actually feeling this one. How about it? Better get used to it though, surely it will reach the radio soon and constant airplay is sure to happen.
Too bad streaming is no longer available before I can even share due to a copyright claim. I'll update and upload as soon as the track is available again so sit tight.
