Hot on the heels from the showcase of the flying feature of his new stage production and following on from its long overdue release, Avicii teams up with VEVO to release the official music video for his latest single, "Silhouettes." In an at the very least equally enigmatic manner as the music video for "Levels," the intricate storyline and occasionally humorous approach make for anything but just another music video. 

With manager Arash Pournouri playing the part as the bartender, Avicii chopping up a cucumber and famed Swedish actor Kjell Bergqvist acting as the doctor in charge, this unique concoction of gender reassignment surgery and intense partying result in something worth sinking your teeth into. Disco Fries do a good old fashioned remix of Avicii’s “Silhouettes.” There’s nothing particularly revolutionary here, but that shouldn’t downplay the fact that this is a very well done remix. The original was released back in 2011 and was labeled as "perfect house music." Pretty sure that Disco Fries have reinforced that assessment. (via Indie Shuffle)

It’s going to be a hectic week with Miami’s Winter Music Conference going on at the moment, as it seems that there are exclusives flying left, right and centre. George Monev made quite a simple edit to the most famous electronic song of 2011 and the results were completely refreshing. Even with reversing just the strings on Avicii’s Levels, the song stays true to it is original feel and dynamics, with a much more playful tone. (via Music Ninja)

There seem to be countless remixes of the famed “Levels” by Avicii, but there are few that are truly pioneering. The song has taken another turn of which is the work of an Andon Artist, TheFatRat. While still remaining anonymous, he is at it again with his signature disco complextro complete with a little Etta James. With the repetitive nature of electronic music, I feel that some producers have ventured away from the art of songwriting, but TheFatRat proves that there are still artists that are conscious of an arrangement from beginning to end. We have some great things in the works with TheFatRat, but they won’t be released until some time next week, so take this awesome tune and keep an eye out for more. (via GottaDanceDirty)

There is a 0% chance you know about 18 year old California based producer Trevor Morgan. The only reason I stumbled across his work is because Adventure Club "favorited" one of his mashups of Avicii and Adventure Club on Soundcloud. I'm always skeptical of mash-ups because I truly think its a dying breed, but, its tracks like these that keep the genre alive. (via SkeetBeatz)

A while back, a bunch of remixes to the Tron: Legacy soundtrack were all over the internet. It was Daft Punk’s Tron: R3c0nf1gur3d. One remix that stood out was Avicii's remix of "Derezzed." If you haven't heard this one then you're really in for a treat because like me, this is the first.

Surprising that this track didn't blow-up like his other more popular songs (*cough* Levels). Avicii making good work out of the legendary Daft Punk's masterpiece. Although most of the time Avicii's productions never disappoint, adding vocals to the original wasn't a bad idea. Alex Prigenzi adding to the equation with solid vocals for support. Brilliant!

Avicii doing things right, lately teaming-up with the hottest names in dance music at present. This time he hooks-up with the wonder twins of NERVO... For work that is.

Olivia and Miriam Nervo lending their vocals to an original Avicii has been working on. Not quite the DJ friendly track, too much on the vocals. No signs of slowing down for the 22-year old Swedish prodigy. Sick collab on this one. Check it!

Says Project 46:

So we actually started this melody for fun, our good friend who introduced us "Toby Komokazi" begged us to finish it. So we did as a Christmas present for him! Sent it to our Manager and he loved it! He ended up sending it to all the massive labels. 50% wanted to sign it and about 50% saying "Reminds me of Levels"

High profile vocalists are lined up to write a top line for it. If you did not know this, One member has know Tim (AVICII) personally for over 2 years and considers him a friend. Both members of Project 46 consider AVICII an inspiration!

So long story short, we are not going to release a track with a massive label. (Even if thats our dream) if it means wrecking a friendship or piggybacking a friends success.

We thought the best thing to do would be to give it away for FREE, so everyone can enjoy it.

No signs of stopping for my man, Avicii. Possibly now one of the greatest progressive house producer and DJ in the business. Tim Bergling working his way up the ranks with production after production, influencing everyone in the EDM world. A very promising year 2012 will be with more tours and definitely more releases.

Here is his new remix of Eric Turner's "Dancing In My Head" see’s Avicii outsource his unique floor filling intellect to new and promising avenues for 2012, adding that signature strike of well-executed force to turner’s noteworthy original (via Beat My Day). Will he be able to top his explosion last year? We'll see.

Out with the old and in with the new. 2011 was an awesome year for EDM, music was everywhere and emerged the new breed of artists. Avicii & Alesso are among this new breed, very young and very talented. Names all over news, headlines and blogs. So what better way to start the new year with a team-up.

"The Rules Has Changed" is the new collaboration and was first dropped during New Year's Eve. Sounds grammatically unsound, right? But it is what it is and it is official. It maintains the same high energy and sound the two are well-known for. Great to see Avicii working with the finest.
