News:¡Uno! Album Art by Green Day
Green Day released the artwork for their next studio album ¡Uno! on Thursday (June 14). The album is set to be out on Sept. 25 and will be closely followed by two more albums, ¡Dos! and ¡TrĂ©!
Video Games (Lana Del Rey Cover) by John Mayer
John Mayer might have destroyed his vocal chords, but don’t let that stop him from coming up with an emotionally charged cover of Lana Del Rey’s “Videogames." Don’t get me wrong, I’m as sick of the remixes and covers of “Videogames” as the next guy but this is totally different. Mayer puts on a pure guitar clinic here, capturing the dark and gloomy vibe that made the original so captivating to begin with. No voice needed. (via The Chuckness)
Video: Look Around by Red Hot Chili Peppers
"All four rooms were filmed simultaneously in the round. Instead of having a drawn-out day of shooting, the band completed the video within four whole takes which, according to Hales, is "very impressive." "They had a very clear idea of how they wanted to perform and they nailed it. All in all it was a fantastic experience and I'm very proud of what we created."
Legends of punk-funk Red Hot Chili Peppers have shown time and again you don't need to re-invent yourself to maintain musical longevity - just do it first and always do it better than everyone else. Today the California natives released their latest video in the above "Look Around," maintaining the signature sound and style, through a four-piece creation filled with character.(via Vibe To This)
News: Refused Reunion
Shit just got serious for this year's Coachella. 2 big reunions for 2012 namely At The Drive-In breaking their 11-year silence (announcing a reunion via a cryptic tweet) and I just found out that they're getting a Refused reunion too! Crazy! This news just intensifies my depression of not being able to go! Here's what the group had to say about the reunion...
Says Refused:
We never did The Shape of Punk to Come justice back when it came out, too tangled up in petty internal bickering to really focus on the job. And suddenly there’s this possibility to do it like it was intended. We wanna do it over, do it right. For the people who’ve kept the music alive through the years, but also for our own sakes.
We feel that you deserve it and we hope the feeling is mutual.
See you in the pit.
Cudi The Kid (feat. KiD CuDi & Travis Barker) by Steve Aoki
DJ and producer Steve Aoki bringing together the best of not two but three worlds by mashing together electronic, rock and hip-hop into his latest genre-defying release "Cudi The Kid," part also of his latest album called Wonderland.
It features KiD CuDi's signature melodic flow and relentless percussions from Travis Barker to accompany the usual electrified Aoki production. Bass heavy is what this track aims for.
Teleport 2 Me by WZRD (Kid CuDi & Dot Da Genius)
This will be the first official and the second single from the upcoming debut album by WZRD.
“Teleport 2 Me” is a follow-up to their first called "Brake" and it is here temporarily in snippet form. Basing from what we have now, we can tell that this is vintage Cudder and we can't wait to hear more from WZRD. So far so good, can't wait to hear the album in full.
Brake by WZRD (Kid Cudi & Dot Da Genius)
Kid Cudi going rock with a project he is doing with Dot Da Genius which they will be calling WZRD under Wicked Awesome Records. The self-titled debut is set to drop the 30th of January, Cudder's birthday.
"Brake" is the first production under WZRD and it offers a stoner-rock cruncher straight out of the 70's, with heavy riffs, pounding drums, and a flute providing the soundtrack for Cudi’s laidback vocals (via CoS).
Video: Monarchy of You by Red Hot Chili Peppers
The return of the Red Hot Chili Peppers welcomes us with creativity like we've never seen. A video of a comic book coming to life to illustrate the story of "Monarchy of You," a cut off RHP's album, I'm With You. Directed by Marc Klasfield, the video grabs inspiration from Raymond Pettibon and his beloved art presenting us with the animated versions of the California quartet alongside references of the odd and obscure.
Video: Paradise by Coldplay
And they say that this album will be their last effort because they have nothing left to put up the table... Will they ever run out?! I don't think so because just when you thought they are out of creativity, they always produce another. Coldplay just doing a great job with staying on the relevant side of the industry.
Visuals shot entirely in South Africa via director Mat Whitecross. The band basically is dressed up in elephant suits, separated but meets up for rehearsals (Chris Martin being very late having to travel a long way) then drops the arena anthem in a live performance. Simple but makes you wonder... Am I high? Mylo Xyloto out in 3 days.
Album: Mylo Xyloto by Coldplay
A few more days till the official release of Coldplay's fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto, which is due for release on October the 25th via Parlophone Records (could be their last?). A few tracks have already surfaced with "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" and "Paradise" who already have gathered a huge amount of attention from the mass. From DJ's to bloggers to a normal person like me, anticipation just keeps on building.
- Mylo Xyloto
- Hurts Like Heaven
- Paradise
- Charlie Brown
- Us Against The World
- M.M.I.X.
- Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
- Major Minus
- U.F.O.
- Princess Of China (feat. Rihanna)
- Up In Flames
- A Hopeful Transmission
- Don't Let It Break Your Heart
- Up With The Birds
Now we have another track that surfaces with "Princess Of China," a collaboration they did with an unlikely artist. A team-up with the current princess of pop, Rihanna. Coldplay going for more synth leaning towards the line of dance music? Not a bad collab but I'm not actually feeling this one. How about it? Better get used to it though, surely it will reach the radio soon and constant airplay is sure to happen.
Too bad streaming is no longer available before I can even share due to a copyright claim. I'll update and upload as soon as the track is available again so sit tight.
