Video: Feel So Close (Calvin Harris Cover) by DWNTWN
Electro-pop duo DWNTWN covering one of the best DJs I’ve seen live, Calvin Harris. They really give the song an acoustic more natural feel with the guitar/bass and Jamie Leffler’s soft vocals accompany it all to form one of the best covers I’ve ever heard.
Spectrum (Calvin Harris Remix) by Florence + the Machine
Calvin Harris is at it again with another one of his big remixes. This one comes in the form of an awesome track called "Spectrum" by Florence + the Machine. The original is a big one on it’s own from the album Ceremonials but put into the hands of Mr. Harris, blows it up even more. Tune!
Only The Horses (Calvin Harris Extended Mix) by Scissor Sisters
For some reasons, I am not too fussed about the new Scissor Sisters single “Only The Horses”. The band roped in producer-of-the-moment Calvin Harris for the collaboration, and his signature sound is all over it but Scissor’s. This could have been a Mika track even! I don’t know if this is their attempt to conquer the (UK) chart again, or just the safe for-the-masses one to pave the album sales the way “Fire With Fire” was? Maybe some extra bits and bobs from the extended mix may sway your opinion? (via Pop Labyrinth)
News: Calvin Harris Named #1 Most Successful Songwriter In UK
It really is time for a commercial dance with Calvin Harris named the UK’s #1 songwriter in-front of Bruno Mars, Adele, Ed Sheeran and Stargate?
The "Bounce" and "Feel So Close" producer clinched the coveted top spot by collaboration with lady-about town Rihanna, on "We Found Love." Calvin has already had a big year heading downunder for Shore Thing and the Summadazye National Festival. Harris and Rihanna have announced plans to play a charity gig in Los Angeles on February 12 in aid of the Children’s Orthopaedic Centre. (via Stoney Roads)
Flashback (Aucelin Avec Amour Remix) by Calvin Harris
French male/female duo Aucelin recently took Calvin Harris’ big room tune "Flashback" and brought it for a smooth drive through the coast of southern France, giving it a nice and breezy feel with low key funk and vocal focus. A soothing listen, and a free download. (via Remix 86)
Born To Feel Beef (The Jane Doze Mash-Up) by Lana Del Rey vs. Calvin Harris vs. Steve Aoki & Afrojack
Two of New York City’s and part of the world’s sexiest DJs (next to NERVO) are back behind the decks, lasing-out more mega-pop dance tracks for our listening pleasure. The Jane Doze with "Born to Feel Beef" reworks Lana Del Rey’s "Born to Die (Gemini Remix)," Calvin Harris’ "Feel So Close," and Steve Aoki & Afrojack’s "No Beef." Quite a mouthful, eh? The end result, a mash-up worthy of some good airtime.
News: Madonna Reportedly Asks Azari & III For Support
One thing you can't knock Madonna for is her taste in music, and she has reportedly asked Azari & III to be the support act on her next tour. The singer is said to be a huge fan of the House-revivalists band, who hail from Toronto, Canada. Madonna isn't the only famous face to rate them either. Johnny Depp, Calvin Harris & Mark Ronson are also fans of the electronic music quartet. (via Electro Wow)
"Madonna loves them and although the tour hasn't been signed in stone yet, it's looking pretty much nailed on."
We Found Love (Star Slinger Refix) by Rihanna
Couldn't resist another post because of this one. Damn this guy Star Slinger! Definitely one of my favorite producers of all time! Check this, "We Found Love" by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris is one of the most overplayed tracks we have to date and I'm no fan. Slinger, however, gives it refix treatment that just changes everything. Not only is it now bearable, it is now worth the listen. Merry Christmas everyone! Cheers from #ANT
Video: Hang It Up by The Ting Tings
The English duo of Katie White and Jules de Martino a.k.a. The Ting Tings are back after roughly a year since their last release with "Hands," a song written and produced by the duo with a little help from label-mate Calvin Harris, which is supposedly the first single for their as-of-yet second album (maybe early next year).
They're back with fresh new material along with a fresh? new look with the single "Hang It Up" with visuals to accompany it co-directed by Dan Gable. The video shows the duo frolicking in a local skate park in regular fashion as they provide audio for the skateboarding youth of tomorrow. They remain true to their style with this one, retaining the addicting percussion and guitar riffs.
