I did a little about this guy named Oliver Rado who just recently did a remix of Little Dragon's "Twice" but I can't find much on him. What a mystery. Anyway, excellent work on Swedish synth-pop original! The German producer giving some love to the track, dropping almost 8 minutes worth of laid back mid-tempo beats over the original's already steady vibe. Awesome!

Das Racist is a Brooklyn-based alternative hip-hop group composed of MCs Himanshu Suri (Heems), and Victor Vazquez (Kool A.D.) and hype man Ashok Kondabolu (Dap). Known for their use of humor, academic references, foreign allusions, and unconventional style, Das Racist has been both dismissed as joke rap and hailed as an urgent new voice in rap.

"Relax" is, above all else, engaging. It’s pleasant to listen to, even if 'pleasant' doesn’t sound like a compliment. It is definitely flawed. Pitchfork had a point in bringing up the “incomplete framework of a record meant to be aesthetically unified and audience-dividing”. But that’s partly why it’s so engaging. Moon Boots entered the world in the mid-1980s via Cape Canaveral. After years of service as the preferred footwear of celebrity astronauts (notably Tom Hanks), Moon Boots came to life during a classified experiment aboard the International Space Station. Little is known of what actually transpired aboard the shuttle, but in short, Moon Boots became a sentient creature, equipped with reason, intuition, and groove. Before long, he grew tired of working for the space-military-industrial complex and found solace in the soothing sounds of underground disco and R&B boogie records. He knew it was only of matter of time before he was hung up like so many boots before him. He abandoned the program and used his savings to build a music-production studio in an unnamed U.S. location, where he is currently working.

This release carries the name of a well respected artist from Gospel and Soul music, Aretha. It’s a five track EP with the original track “Aretha”, a dub version of it, and remixes from ColeCo , Kid Color and Zimmer.

One of my favorite songs from last year, from the criminally-overlooked band, Capital Cities, has officially been remixed. When I say officially remixed, I mean it was actually a project worked out between the DiscoTech and Capital Cities-official. Personally, I love it. It’s a little less hard-hitting and it doesn’t stray too greatly from the original. Instead it reinvents the instrumental around the vocals to make a more playful, light-hearted version of the song. A while back, a bunch of remixes to the Tron: Legacy soundtrack were all over the internet. It was Daft Punk’s Tron: R3c0nf1gur3d. One remix that stood out was Avicii's remix of "Derezzed." If you haven't heard this one then you're really in for a treat because like me, this is the first.

Surprising that this track didn't blow-up like his other more popular songs (*cough* Levels). Avicii making good work out of the legendary Daft Punk's masterpiece. Although most of the time Avicii's productions never disappoint, adding vocals to the original wasn't a bad idea. Alex Prigenzi adding to the equation with solid vocals for support. Brilliant!

“Escape,” the title track and also the first single released by chillectro group, Techy Romantics. It is simply light and jumpy. The stance of cool present in the song, the easy listening, is essential for keeping big declarations like “you give me something to live for” and “you’re my escape” from being too overwhelming. There you are! Deadmau5 deciding to drop his latest electro house track called "Cthulhu2" and it is dope! Definitely got that distinct tune he is well-known for. Starting out melodic at first leaning to his softer side then dropping big with the filthy electro bass he is most fond of.

The track was released back-to-back along with a sample he calls "Shits Fashionable I Guess" and it will be off his latest dubstep filth. Normally I would say that I can't wait for the full track to be out but this time I'm not so much a fan. Too dirty for my taste in dubstep. I'm sticking with "Cthulhu2" on this one.

Here's something new and out of the ordinary. Remember that legendary 1981 synth-disco track from Earth, Wind & Fire called "Let's Groove?" Ever heard a remix that was worth the listen? Vancouver production genius, Teen Daze, chopping himself a version like we've never seen him do and yes, it is good. 

From classic disco to ambient, dance and electronic. Imagine how good that sounds. Teen Daze making sure to put that indie spin of electronica for that official modern listen. "It is now instantly upbeat, infectious and insanely dance-worthy."

“Celebration” has seen the light of day in a few different forms, surfacing first back in September as a collabo with Chicago lyricist Jon James, and later the solo A$AP Rocky version. Yet, it's now that all are getting amped about it, and for damn good reason.
