Soul Kiling by The Ting Tings

So…this isn’t The Ting Tings I’m used to. In fact, “Soul Killing” is so far away from “Hands” that I couldn’t have guessed they were the same band. Why’s that? Well, they’ve gone from electro-clash to some type of reggae. As PMA puts it, they basically sound like No Doubt.

The song comes off the album Sounds from Nowheresville (courtesy of Columbia Records), and will be available in the US on March 13th. (via Indie Shuffle)

Video: Silence (Bag Raiders Remix) by The Ting Tings

Out comes the new visuals for the The Ting Tings' second single to their upcoming new album dropping in 2012. "Silence" gets a peaceful remix treatment from Bag Raiders, opening the song with snaps and melancholic synths which give way to elastic bongos that nudge toward the the dance floor (via The Fader). Just a nudge though, Bag Raiders sounding a bit under the weather lately. What ever happened to "Shooting Stars" and "Sunlight?" Those were great summer anthems! Have they run out of beats to spin? You be the judge. Visuals after the skip.

Silence (Bag Raiders Remix) by The Ting Tings

Here I have new material from the English-duo of The Ting Tings with a little help from another duo from Fool's Gold, Bag Raiders. I understand from a little reading that the original of "Silence" is quite sad and rockin' that dark tune but this re-work changes everything.

Bag Raiders adding all that percussion to bring that light to the dark. A hummable melody, lush soundscapes and a driving beat (via Nashville Nights). Cowbells and bongos to keep the head bouncing and synth additions to urge it on to the dance floor. Sit tight for The Ting Tings' new album dropping early next year.

Video: Hang It Up by The Ting Tings

The English duo of Katie White and Jules de Martino a.k.a. The Ting Tings are back after roughly a year since their last release with "Hands," a song written and produced by the duo with a little help from label-mate Calvin Harris, which is supposedly the first single for their as-of-yet second album (maybe early next year).

They're back with fresh new material along with a fresh? new look with the single "Hang It Up" with visuals to accompany it co-directed by Dan Gable. The video shows the duo frolicking in a local skate park in regular fashion as they provide audio for the skateboarding youth of tomorrow. They remain true to their style with this one, retaining the addicting percussion and guitar riffs.
