Rap & Bitches (feat. Drake) by 1982 (Statik Selektah & Termanology)
A slick vocal sample from Drake’s standout Take Care track “Underground Kings” is the backbone of 1982′s new “Rap & Bitches.” Statik Selektah’s production alternates between piano chords and synths. Termanology adjusts his flow accordingly with two nice flossing verses. There’s some false advertising in this being a sample over an actual Drake feature, but the song is hot enough for that to be forgiven. (via Beats, Boxing and Mayhem)
Shining by 1982 (Statik Selektah & Termanology)
Remember when Termanology and Statik Selektah collaborated on an entire album last year and named themselves 1982? Well, it’s 2012 and they’re back at it with a new album and “Shining” will serve as the first single from the project. As the title states, this track truly is shining. A lot of Statik Selektah we've been hearing lately so expect a lot more of him this year. It is, after all, his year.

Autographs (Prod. Statik Selektah) by Reks
For Reks' next act, he's dipping into the vault of frequent cohort Statik Selektah to release Straight, No Chaser. Accordingly, the first single “Autographs,” the first single off the project, is a song that only begins to show the the fluid chemistry between the two artists. I’m always partial to those cuts and scratched hooks so Statik gets brownie points for those in my books, and the beat itself is on the slower end, yet the horns and synths make it powerful and motivational.
Reks then skillfully handles the goods and delivers some solid bars and versatile flow to describe the goods and bads of the rap life. The concept is far from novel, but the duo provides a very fresh take that’s definitely worth taking the time to listen to. The entire album is going to be produced by Statik Selektah, so it shouldn’t be too far fetched to expect a tracklisting full of excellent records such as this (via The Smoking Section).
