Video: Hollywood (feat. Penguin Prison) by RAC

We’re quite proud of RAC’s latest track titled “Hollywood” and equally as impressed by their video. RAC has perennially been our favorite collective remix artist(s) and their collaboration with the multi-faceted rising star, Penguin Prison, makes this song no joke. André Allen Anjos, founder of RAC and composer/songwriter of “Hollywood” is seen here in this video.

Director Ryan Reichenfeld and cinematographer Kyle Hill melted the scenery of LA with a mystified cowboy. Somehow this old cowboy from the West, Clint Eastwood eyes and all, is stuck wandering through the LA night, yet manages to hitch his horse and take a leak, build a fire in an alleyway like some city slicker and venture around as if on a mission. Will he ride into the sunset? See for yourself… (via MUF)

If You Forget Me (Gigamesh Remix) by RAC

You’re probably thinking, “here comes another bomb” and you’re right! This is actually pretty amazing. If we put together RAC and Gigamesh, probably this is going to sound to something epic. However, this track is from 2010! Surprised? Well, the main reason of this article is basically to show you and me as well, that music sometimes it’s just a matter of timing. This brilliant remix from Gigamesh for this single “If You Forget Me” is not new but at the time nobody actually heard it, because at the time both projects were just starting. I’m just trying to show everyone (mainly newcomers) that if you work really hard and if you’re persistent, maybe one day you’ll also be recognized! Of course it’s not easy, but Gigamesh and RAC and many others are an example of persistence and talent. (via Golden Scissors)

Grand Rapids (RAC Remix) by Princeton

LA based synth loving indie-rock band Princeton are the latest artists to be on the receiving end of a RAC remix. Needles to say the RAC guys kill it, as they always do, but rather than taking this in a pumping, thumping, club-ready, dancefloor orientated direction, they switch things up a little. This is, in fact more a redux than a remix, as the song is relaxed, loosened and allowed to take on a second life as a lazy summer jam. (via Pigeon and Planes)

Hollywood (The Magician Remix) by RAC

The Remix Artist Collective comprised of Andre Allen Anjos, Andrew Maury and Kalk Kling have blessed us with countless of satisfying remixes over the past 2 years. But now the tables have turned. Belgian DJ The Magician takes on the playful original and makes something of his own with a cheerful summer-friendly remix. It only seemed right for the first RAC original to get the remix treatment by The Magician. It’s a bubbling, infectious tune highlighting the sunnier side of Hollywood.

Part Of Me (RAC Mix) by Katy Perry

RAC has remixed Katy Perry‘s Part Of Me, it’s somewhat surprising pairing since RAC usually mixes less pop tracks, but Andre thought long and hard about it before taking on the mix, and the results are pretty good!

Says André Allen Anjos:

I was a little on the fence when this offer came in. I’ve done major label pop projects before and I’ve certainly passed on a few, but something about Katy Perry was interesting. If she can’t take herself too seriously, why should I? Music is supposed to be fun and I certainly had fun with this one.

Need Your Love (RAC Mix) by The Temper Trap

Two of the most prolific artists on the internet right now are RAC and The Temper Trap. We’ve featured multiple songs from both in the last few days, and so it only makes sense that the two would come together for this remix of “Need Your Love.” The Temper Trap, of course, are pumping up their new self-titled album The Temper Trap, out on May 18th. Similarly, RAC has been on a bit of a killing spree, releasing their first original single “Hollywood,” and following it up shortly thereafter with a remix of Gossip. (via Indie Shuffle)

Picture Perfect World (RAC Mix) by Gossip

Another great remix from RAC! This time an extraordinay rework for the new Gossip single, "Picture Perfect World." As usual, amazing stuff. Seems like everything they do, they do it good and do it right. This one is from the head honcho, André Allen Anjos. (via Golden Scissors)

Two Hours (RAC Mix) by Theme Park

Our favorite collective of remixers are back again, this time with their take on Theme Park’s “Two Hours.” André Allen Anjos is the man in charge, adding his signature warmth to the original. RAC really has proven over and over that they are the official masters of "indie-remix" these days and this is just another bullet among the numerous quality remixes made. The last half of the mix is especially good so you know to check it.

Waves (RAC Mix) by letthemusicplay

There’s something about an artist’s decision to adopt anonymity that rouses curiosity and compels you to listen to their music. Behind a logo made of two circles and a triangle in the shape of a face is the enigmatic group/duo/girl/girl, letthemusicplay. No one really knows anything about these guys except that they’ve enjoyed support from producers like Jacques Renault and The 2 Bears. Most recently, our dudes Andre, Karl and Andrew of RAC (Remix Artist Collective) have remixed their second single “Waves,” which we’re happy to premiere today on Discobelle.

The RAC remix adds more layers of spacey synths, creating the soundtrack to a futuristic underwater submarine expedition. If you like what you hear, head on over to LTMP’s Soundcloud for free downloads of both their singles and remixes. (via Discobelle)

Blue Jeans (RAC Remix) by Lana Del Rey

As I’m sure you already know, Lana Del Rey has been remixed by everyone! In fact, my grandmother is putting out a remix of her track “Video Games” later this week. But all jokes aside, we began to notice that out of the list of all these remixes, one particular group of producers weren’t on it: RAC. How did that manage to happen? I don’t know. You think RAC would be the first ones given the opportunity to remix one of her tracks. Despite happening later than expected, our favorite collective of remixers have finally taken a crack at vamping up one of the songstresses’ tracks. Along with producers such as Kris Menace, Moonlight Matters, and Gesaffelstein, RAC have elected to edit her provocative song “Blue Jeans.” (via Golden Scissors)
