Outkast is one of the best hip-hop/acts of all time and it is sacred ground to do a remix of one of their classic tracks unless you really bring a new approach. DC producer Nacey reworks Outkast’s thirteen year old track “Spottieottiedopalicious.” He layers a vocal-house sheet on Andre and Big Boi’s legacy and adds a tambourine induced kick.
The effort is certainly of high praise and the result is really not bad at all, but the extraction of those legendary horns from the original leaves the finished product very questionable to say the least. Fresh but questionable. You be the judge.
