The very gorgeous Lizzie Grant a.k.a. Lana Del Rey is old-school Hollywood meets blog world meets Fleetwood Mac. This girl has been racking up some hype in the blog scene from a release two months ago which acquired the best new track title with her "Video Games" single. Take note that this single had a video that she herself produced which had a lot of dusty old chopped-up clips and a whole lot of pouting. Pretty creative, eh? But not only is she very attractive but she also has the vocals to back it up. Why don't I let Pitchfork tell you more about this beauty.
Says Pitchfork:
"Lana Del Rey is also Lizzy Grant, a 24-year old who grew up singing in several defferent school choirs in Lake Placid, New York, about five hours north of the city. She released an album on iTunes in January 2010 produced by vet David Kahne, known for his work with Paul McCartney, The Strokes, and Regina Spektor, among many others. The LP, dubbed Lana Del Rey, has since been deleted. "I would like people focused on my new music for now," wrote Del Rey in an e-mail-- understandable since that record's disty Americana only hints at the promise of "Video Games." And while she's previously admitted that "managaers and lawyers" helped her choose the "Lana Del Rey" moniker, she's not a character or a studio creation. On the topic Lizzy vs. Lana, she wrote, "There's not a real me and another me. Same person, just a different name"
Here I have her two fashionably elegant tracks, "Blue Jeans" and "Video Games," remixed. These tracks have just been released via Stranger Records and already they're catching the attention of the digitally gifted. So here are two more reasons to obsess over her (like we need more). Jamie Woon and Penguin Prison, take it away!
