Fresh from facing up to "The Fear," Oliver Gale’s sparkly bedroom project Blue Boats have emerged with a new, fearless approach, free of self-doubt and focused on providing the kind of reverb-addled pop that we still can’t pretend to dislike. "Summers Down" is firmly rooted in the kind of synth-bleeping, shimmering optimism that many a cynic would turn a blind eye to. While it might not shatter a hater’s expectations, it’s intensely likeable; suitable for balmy evenings we dream of having when the English heat comes back. (via MUSIC FAN'S MIC)
