The Fool’s Gold godfather and all-round production wiz grabs hold of "New Lands" with both hands and shakes it til’ it’s rotten to the core. Packed to the brim with pounding drums, factory sized, almost saw-like synth sounds and that vocal breakdown, A-Trak has again come up trumps on one of his biggest remix effort to date. News: A-Trak, Kimbra and Mark Foster Team-Up
A-Trak, Kimbra and Foster The People frontman Mark Foster have joined forces for "Warrior," the latest track in Converse's Three Artists, One Song series. The song is part of the launch of a line of footwear that will be sold exclusively at Journeys shops; it will be made available as a video and free download from the Journeys website on April 5th. Night Out (A-Trak Remix) by Martin Solveig
Instead of just releasing your typical single, Martin Solveig is readying (due out in April) an entire EP for his track "The Night Out," which originally appears on his fifth studio album Smash. Said EP will feature various remixes of the track. One of those reworkings was handled by esteemed Montreal DJ A-Track. (via The NJ Underground)
Round of Applause/Where My Money At? by A-Trak
Fresh off the red carpet at The Grammy's, A-Trak releases two free songs today on his Facebook page. "Round of Applause" features those familiar verses from Waka and Drake for a wild dance tune, while the second features some Kanye West and Jay-Z sampling, "Where My Money At." Who's Wearing The Cap? by Sander van Doorn & Laidback Luke
Their names alone can cause such excitement. What more a collaboration? Laidback Luke and Sander van Doorn teaming-up for a massive collaboration via Mixmash. The track called "Who's Wearing The Cap?" has a weird feel to it but the end result brings us the best of both worlds, literally.
Two worlds namely progressive house and trance blended together to form an electro banger. “People sometimes mix me up with Luke,” says
Sander van Doorn in his interview with DJ Mag, “so in the studio, he was
wearing a cap, we took a picture for Twitter asking, 'Who's Wearing The
Cap?' and that became the name of the track!”
Video: Big Bad Wolf by Duck Sauce
Duck Sauce premieres new visuals for their single, "Big Bad Wolf," just in time for Halloween. The concept of the comical video is disturbing but creative and well-made via the brilliant mind of Keith Schofield.
The duo of A-Trak and Armand van Helden as literal dick-heads? Weird but don't worry, there is actually an interesting story behind this. According to A-Trak, the clip "is pretty simple, and it can mean anything, really, so we wanted the video to have its own narrative." Also, in their own way, they wanted to bring back the original concept of making a dance video. Says A-Trak: "Remember when dance music videos used to actually be creative? Like
when you think back to Aphex Twin, Fatboy Slim and Daft Punk… I don't
know why the genre's videos became so generic in recent years."
More from A-Trak:
"When Keith [Schoffield] came up with this idea of 'crotchfaces,' we
just thought it was hilarious," A-Trak continues. "He started coming up
with all these gags and describing the characters living in this sort of
parallel world, and we were sold. He wasn't sure if we'd be down to
play the leads, but our take on this was, if we're going to do this, we
need to go all the way. So we played the dickheads, essentially."
Mehdi Forever by A-Trak
Honoring the late DJ Mehdi; DJ and producer, A-Trak, decided to come-up with a megamix consisting of only Mehdi's tracks. A four and a half mix as tribute to the Parisian DJ to whom he was closely associated with. Also, a numerous songs shrunk down to a four and a half cut-off. The mix is also featured as the intro for the Fool's Gold October radio mix. A great talent for another.

HBO and the cast of How To Make It In America pays tribute to the man behind the Rasta Monsta Hustle, Luis Guzman. How Deep Is Your Love? (A-Trak Dub For Mehdi) by The Rapture
Says A-Trak:
“I did this remix over the summer, and when I was close to finishing it I played it to my friend, the irreplaceable DJ Mehdi. We often played each other our productions for feedback. As it turns out he and Riton were visiting New York so they stopped by my apartment. I was working on the main version of the remix, the vocal version. I knew I would make a few alternate edits during the mixdown. The funny thing was, Mehdi’s favorite part was the ending! He and Riton suggested that I have that part come in earlier. My reaction was: that would work well for the dub version. And sure enough, when I finished mixing it down I made a dub with their suggestion. When I sent it to Mehdi shortly after, he responded (as a joke) that I should call it “Dub For Mehdi”. He included it in his “Tunisian Summer” mix. And then, as we all know, the unimaginable happened and we lost our dear friend. The least I can do now is name the edit after him. This one’s for you, Memed.”
